HMI is pursuing its mandate for the modernisation project for the controls of (7) seven turbine-generator sets at the Paugan hydroelectric generating station.

Work realised under specific sequence

This 202 MW plant owned by Hydro-Québec is located close to the municipality of Low, in the Outaouais region of Quebec. The project was initiated in spring 2010 and was completed at the end of the summer in 2014.

The challenge

  • Proceed with the modernisation of the controls in an operating plant.
  • Develop a work schedule that is in line with Hydro-Quebec operating requirements.

The result

  • All campaigns completed on time and on budget.
  • Updated controls providing higher operationability for the units.
